五能憶等者，化生即是趣菩提行故，以宿住智明記。
Fifth, regarding 'capable of recollecting' and so forth: transforming living beings is precisely the practice leading toward bodhi; hence he clearly remembers with the wisdom of past abodes (pūrvenivāsānusmṛti-jñāna).
