Third, regarding the central theme and purpose: Specifically revealing the fundamental master's dependent retribution, endowed with the three worlds interfused and embracing inexhaustibly, is the central theme (zong); causing all bodhisattvas to generate faith and understanding and to accomplish practices and vows is the purpose (qu). The rest is as in the preceding chapter, differing only in being general versus specific. The marks of interfusion and embracing are also seen in the preceding text. Xianshou established the Lotus Matrix contemplation, which furthermore possesses ten virtues, largely the same with minor differences, as explained in that text.
