Fourth, from "Just as the Bhagavat" onward, explaining the reason for the differences. This has two meanings: First, since he himself attained accomplishment through diverse names and words, now he also models himself on antiquity to ripen others with differences. Second, in the past as a bodhisattva, he adapted to capacities to tame beings; now having appeared in the world, he establishes names matching the root. For example, in the past he taught sentient beings to empty false objects; now having attained sambodhi, he establishes the name "Transcending the Spheres of Objects". The others all follow this; therefore the phrase "thereby attaining maturity" applies both to oneself and to others.
