Fourth, in explaining the text: this chapter is unlike the preceding two, for those with active virtues take practice as primary, hence it is omitted here. Moreover, active virtues are already fully mature and are subsumed under advancement; therefore, there is only one chapter whose meaning corresponds to understanding within practice. The chapter has seven parts: first, the section on samādhi; second, the section on empowerment; third, the section on arising; fourth, the section on the fundamental; fifth, the section on expounding; sixth, the section on immediate realization; seventh, the section on repeated verses.
