Ninth is the treasury of upholding. In the explanation of its marks there are three [parts]: first, specifically presenting the text and meaning to reveal upholding over a long period; second, from 'upholds one buddha' onward, universally presenting all dharmas to reveal the ability to uphold broadly, where that which is upheld is precisely the dharmas previously recollected; third, from 'disciple of the Buddha' onward, distinguishing the measure of virtues of the capacity to uphold. The text has ten clauses: 1. so great that it has no exterior, 2. so broad that it can hollowly accommodate, 3. so deep that it is hard to reach its bottom, 4. the four borders have extinguished marks, 5. nothing externally can overpower it, 6. its essence has no divisions or measures, 7. its function is inexhaustible, 8. it internally contains numerous virtues, 9. the cause penetrates to the source of the fruit, 10. others cannot fathom it.
