Thirty-two: Giving the hands and feet combines the two matters into a single vow, and the text has only three parts. First, the practice of giving also has three parts: first, marking the section and citing precedents; next, from "With faith..." onward, marking the cause and praying for the fruit—faith is the cause for the hands, and its fruit is the ability to rain down treasures; action is the cause for the feet, and its fruit is universally striding about, and so forth; and finally, from "O sons of the Buddha..." onward, correctly giving with a pure mind. Within this, giving the hands comes first. From "the power of mental vows" onward, the mind of giving the feet is explained: just as feet resting on the earth can support the body, one vows to abide on the stage of wisdom and be able to accomplish the wisdom-body. Because it is free from the defilements of mind, it can manifest the dharmakāya. Because the dharmakāya is clear and serene, it cannot be destroyed. Because the realization of wisdom continues eternally, it is without interruption. Second, from "O sons of the Buddha..." onward, the practice of pariṇāmanā is explained. The text has two parts: first, it extensively explains a single function—the hands can rain down treasures, and the feet can travel through realms; next, from "further causing..." onward, it briefly adduces the multiple hands and multiple functions.
