Fourth, from "non-conceptual" downward is the non-arising of operational distinction, belonging to the sphere and station. Functions are called operational distinctions; when suchness and wisdom penetrate them, there is no distinction, and non-distinction is itself non-arising. The lower suchness is the suchness of principle, and the upper suchness is the suchness of wisdom; because wisdom conforms to true principle, it is without conceptualization. This wisdom is the ultimate entry of the Buddha; now, the bodhisattva realizes suchness, coinciding with the Buddha's entry; hence the commentary says: "Purified within tathatā, due to the non-conceptual Buddha-wisdom." These four are all demonstrations of the contemplation of the forbearance of non-arising.
