Second is the simile of the dharmadhātu being calm and clear, which illustrates the Buddha's wisdom of neither increasing nor decreasing in essence; this, in turn, explains the prior 'support'. It is a 'support' because [all kinds of wisdom] arise supported by this. Even though it produces the various wisdoms, it does not decrease; when a bodhisattva attains liberation and accomplishes the Buddha's wisdom, it also does not increase or become fuller, because it is equal in having an identical essence—like the previous simile of the plank in the sea.
