Second, the two sections from "indestructible faith" downward clarify practice within the indestructible pariṇāmanā. This section directly clarifies the ten phrases on indestructibility, whose meaning is as explained before. Second, the ten kinds of receiving predictions refers to the accomplishment of the practice of pariṇāmanā. Among the ten: (1) understanding and concurring with the Buddha's mind; (2) possessing the good roots conducive to liberation; (3) great practices already cultivated—these three mostly refer to the three ranks of worthies; (4) and (5) are framed in terms of face-to-face and not face-to-face, as the Lotus Sūtra says, "For those not in this assembly, you should proclaim it," and so forth; (6) realizing suchness at the first stage; (7) perfecting forbearance at the eighth stage; (8) possessing the methods of training and converting at the ninth stage; (9) fulfilling the three great kalpas at the tenth stage; (10) entering into the profound mystery at equal enlightenment, hence called sovereign, like the prophecy given to Maitreya. If considered in terms of progressive stages, this station possesses only the first five, the rest being introduced incidentally; if considered in terms of perfect interpenetration, it encompasses all ten.
