疏「用繁興以恒如」者，明用不離於體也。繁多興起而常即如。上體、相、用三不相捨離，皆是所證所觀。

The Commentary's "Functions proliferate yet are ever such" explains that functions are not separate from the essence. Though proliferating and arising in multiplicity, they are ever identical to suchness. The three above—essence, characteristic, and function—are not separate from one another; all are the realized and the observed.
