疏「或在法會而聾盲」等者，釋其示相。略有二類：上即五百在本會中或示在道，下即末會初六千比丘也。

Regarding the Commentary's stating, "Or in the Dharma assembly being deaf and blind," and so forth: this explains their manifested characteristics. There are roughly two categories: the former refers to the five hundred [śrāvakas] in the original assembly or manifested on the path; the latter refers to the six thousand monks at the beginning of the final assembly.
