12.20

疏「其名句」下，揀法。亦通妨難。故彼論中自有難云：若爾，如次所說，當云何通？謂如說佛教名為何法？謂名句文身，次第行列、次第安布、次第連合等。為答此難，故論有此通。此難但牒後段之文，故疏略耳。

In the commentary, from "Its names and phrases" downward, it discriminates the factors. It also resolves difficulties. Therefore, in that treatise there is naturally the objection: If so, as stated sequentially, how is it to be reconciled? That is, as stated: What dharmas are named as the Buddha's teaching? Namely, the groups of names, phrases, and syllables, sequentially arrayed, sequentially laid out, sequentially combined, and so forth. To answer this objection, the treatise therefore has this reconciliation. This objection merely repeats the text of the subsequent passage, which is why the commentary abridges it.
