12.33

疏「既語默」下，第二結成說聽。「語默視瞬皆說」，結前文也。「見聞覺知盡聽」，顯後義也。覺收鼻舌身之三根。上既六塵皆說，今則六根皆聽。疏「苟能」下，釋其聽義。上則但能顯法為說，此則但能得法為聽也。

Regarding the commentary from "Since speech and silence" downwards: second is concluding on speaking and listening. "Speech, silence, looking, and blinking are all preaching" concludes the preceding text. "Seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing are all listening" reveals the subsequent meaning. "Sensing" subsumes the three faculties of nose, tongue, and body. Above, since all six sensory objects are preaching, here all six sense faculties are listening. Regarding the commentary from "If one is capable" downwards: it explains the meaning of listening. Above, merely being able to manifest the Dharma constituted preaching; here, merely being able to obtain the Dharma constitutes listening.
