16.18

疏「五因大」等者，謂發菩提心，即十信發心。起解即十住。行即十行。願即十向。證即十地。精勤匪懈，通策於前，以成諸位。所以廣說因中差別者，欲收《攝論》七大性故，次文當知。

Regarding the Commentary's statement, "Fifth, the greatness of cause," and so on: producing the bodhicitta refers to the producing of intention in the ten faiths. Arising understanding refers to the ten abodes. Practice refers to the ten practices. Vow refers to the ten dedications. Realization refers to the ten grounds. Being vigorous and unflagging generally stimulates the preceding [stages] to fulfill the various stations. The reason the distinctions within the cause are explained at length is that it intends to encompass the seven greatnesses of the Mahāyānasaṃgraha, as should be known from the subsequent text.
