疏「初位前十信行」者，以四十二位明義。十信未成位，但為住因故，《仁王》詺十住為十信故，取能成信詺所成住故。

Regarding the Commentary's statement, 'The practices of the Ten Faiths preceding the first stage': This clarifies the meaning based on the forty-two stages. The Ten Faiths have not yet formed a [permanent] stage, serving merely as the cause of the Abodes; hence the Renwang calls the Ten Abodes the Ten Faiths, taking that which accomplishes faith to designate the Abodes that are accomplished.
