17.57

疏「有云如者當理之言」者，通能所詮，含於事理。理者道理，非唯真如。即生公釋《法華經》。

Regarding the commentary's "Some say 'as' (ru) means words that accord with principle": this pervades both the expressing and the expressed, and encompasses both phenomena and principle. "Principle" here means reason/principle (daoli), not merely tathatā. This is Master Daosheng's commentary on the *Lotus Sūtra*.
