17.8

疏「令正宗中闕證入」者，此即光統以〈法界品〉為流通。〈法界〉是證入因果，眾海大問，新眾遠集，佛自入定，眾海頓證。判為流通，已抑經文，況正宗中但有信解行三而無證入。

Regarding the Commentary's "Causing the central doctrine section to lack realization and entry": this refers to the Master of Law Gu统 [Huiguang] taking the "Dharmadhātu Chapter" as the transmission. The "Dharmadhātu" is the cause and effect of realization and entry, where the oceanic assembly makes great inquiries, new assemblies gather from afar, the Buddha himself enters samādhi, and the oceanic assembly realizes it頓 suddenly. Judging it to be the transmission already diminishes the scripture's text, not to mention that the central doctrine section would only have the three [aspects of] faith, understanding, and practice, but lack realization and entry.
