19.4

疏「三為守護」等者，經云「皆於往昔無量劫中恒發大願，願常親近供養諸佛。」又下經云「一切諸佛化形所在，皆隨化往；一切如來所住之處，常勤守護。」

Regarding the commentary's phrase "Third, to protect and guard" and so forth: the sūtra says: "All of them constantly made great vows throughout immeasurable kalpas in the past, wishing to constantly draw near to and make offerings to all Buddhas." Moreover, the subsequent sūtra text says: "Wherever the transformed forms of all Buddhas reside, they all follow the transformations and go; wherever all Tathāgatas dwell, they constantly and diligently protect and guard them."
