Regarding the Commentary's statement, "Sumeru may topple, but how could Māra harass [him]?": this refers to the story of Chan Master Huiwei in the Biographies of Eminent Monks. When he was cultivating meditation in a cloudy forest, an evil demon appeared before him, possessing a body without a head, intending to terrify the Chan master. The Master remained composed and fearless, and consoled it, saying: 'I am happy that you have no trouble with headaches.' Next, a demon without a belly appeared, and he spoke again: 'I am happy that you have no worries about the five internal organs.' In this way, as they came, he dismissed them, so that in the end he could not be deluded. Māra then transformed into a heavenly maiden and said: 'The Lord of Devas has ordered me to provide sweeping and sprinkling.' The Master said: 'My mind is like the earth, difficult to shake. Do not come to test me with a skin bag.' The heavenly maiden then soared into the sky and departed, praising him: 'The great sea may dry up, and Sumeru may topple, but that superior man's resolve remains firm and true.' Now a single line is used here, and the meaning and import are identical.
