21.44

疏「教理行果皆有護也」者，有毀謗教，不惜身命折伏護持，為護教也。得旨契理便為護理，修行無缺即為護行。此三若護，正覺果圓，即為護果。

Regarding the commentary's "Doctrine, principle, practice, and fruit are all protected": When there are those who slander the teaching, not begrudging one's physical life to subdue them and uphold it is protecting the doctrine. Attaining the purport and according with the principle is protecting the principle. Cultivating without deficiency is protecting practice. If these three are protected, the fruit of correct awakening is perfected, which is protecting the fruit.
