22.39

疏「七方便」中，初釋名。二「下四」下，辯相。先總顯下四，此依《唯識》。若約《本業》，亦各有三，至〈十行品〉說。後「今初」下，別明此度。謂由大智故，迴前六度向大菩提；由大悲故，迴前六度拔濟有情。故無性云「不捨生死而求菩提」。三「文云」下，釋文，可知。

In the commentary on the "seventh, skillful means": first, explaining the name. Second, from "the four below" onward discerns the characteristics. First, it generally indicates the four below, which relies on the Vijñaptimātratā. If according to the Benye [jing], each also has three, which will be explained in the chapter on the Ten Practices. Later, from "now, the first" onward individually clarifies this pāramitā: through great wisdom, one dedicates the former six pāramitās toward great bodhi; through great compassion, one dedicates the former six pāramitās to rescue sentient beings. Thus Asabhāva states: "Not abandoning saṃsāra, yet seeking bodhi." Third, from "the text says" onward explains the text, which is understandable.
