22.46

疏「十平等心故曰等門」者，三十六經，入五地有十心：一過去佛法平等清淨心、二未來、三現在、四戒、五心、六除見疑悔、七道非道智、八修行智見、九於一切菩提分法上上觀察、十教化一切眾生，皆有平等清淨心言。疏「諦法俗境」者，良以十重觀四諦故，四地出世；五地却入，云觀俗境。

Regarding the Commentary's statement "it is called the gate of equality because of the ten minds of equality": in the thirty-sixth [fascicle of the] sūtra, entering the fifth bhūmi involves ten minds: first, an equanimous and pure mind regarding the past Buddha-dharmas; second, regarding future ones; third, regarding present ones; fourth, regarding precepts; fifth, regarding mind; sixth, regarding the elimination of views, doubt, and remorse; seventh, regarding knowledge of path and non-path; eighth, regarding the knowledge and vision of practice; ninth, regarding supreme observation of all bodhipakṣikadharmas; and tenth, regarding transforming and guiding all sentient beings—all containing the phrasing "equanimous and pure mind." Regarding the Commentary's statement "observing real phenomena and conventional spheres": precisely because of the ten-layered observation of the four noble truths, one transcends the world on the fourth bhūmi; on the fifth bhūmi one re-enters, which is called observing the conventional sphere.
