On the commentary’s "As in the 'Inconceivable' chapter, Buddhas have ten kinds of supreme dharmas": this is in fascicle forty-six; this accords with the phrasing of the Buddhas' supreme dharmas in the Jin translation, and therefore cites this text. The sūtra says: "Namely, the great vows of all Buddhas are firm and cannot be destroyed; what they say must be done, and their speech is never twofold. Second, desiring to completely fulfill all merits, they cultivate bodhisattva practice until the end of future kalpas without giving rise to weariness. Third, desiring to subdue all sentient beings, they proceed to ineffable and ineffable worlds, thus acting for all sentient beings without interruption. Fourth, toward both kinds of sentient beings—those who have faith and those who slander—they look universally with great compassion, equal and without differentiation. Fifth, from their initial resolve up to buddhahood, they never fall back or lose the bodhicitta. Sixth, accumulating immeasurable good roots and merits, they dedicate them all to omniscient nature, never having any defiled attachment to any worlds. Seventh, cultivating the three karmas in the presence of all Buddhas, they practice only Buddha practice and not the practice of the two vehicles, all dedicated to omniscient nature, to attain unsurpassable, correct, and equal bodhi. Eighth, they emit great light, which equally illuminates all places and illuminates the dharmas of all Buddhas, causing bodhisattvas' minds to attain purity and fulfill omniscience. Ninth, relinquishing mundane pleasures without greed or defilement, they universally vow that the world may leave suffering, attain happiness, and be free from all prapañca. Tenth, pitying sentient beings who undergo various sufferings, they guard the Buddha seed, practice the Buddha realm, transcend birth and death, and attain the stage of the ten powers. These are the ten." Within every clause, the words 'all Buddhas' appear above, identical to the first clause.
