Regarding the commentary's statement, "having appeared and having arrived": before explaining the text, the commentary generally reveals the intention of the praises. In this, there are two parts: first, the correct explanation; second, the general structural breakdown. Here is the first. "Having appeared" refers to the praise of Pramāṇaghoṣa. "Having arrived" refers to the praises of the bodhisattvas of the ten directions. "Boundless" refers to feelings that know no limit. Thus the Preface to the Odes states: "Feelings are stirred within and take form in words; when words are insufficient, one sighs and sings them; when singing them is insufficient, unconsciously one's hands dance them and one's feet stamp them." Therefore Master Sheng used this meaning to explain the intention of speaking the verses, saying: "With boundless hearts, they sing, chant, and dance."
