3.40

疏「八示真法」下，文亦有二：先總明、後別釋。文含多義，不異分齊中教因總該故。此略舉義深理要，故別為一門。

Regarding the Commentary's 'Eighth, revealing the true Dharma' and below: the text also has two parts: first, it explains generally, and second, it interprets individually. The text contains many meanings, and does not differ from the teaching-cause generally encompassing all within the scope [of the doctrine]. Here it briefly adduces the profound meanings and essential principles, and so it forms a distinct section.
