31.6

疏「三揀定所問者」，意云：此是假名法相師問，欲顯法性義；非是法性師問，顯法相義。故云揀定。於中三：一正揀、二遮救、三結成。

Regarding the Commentary's statement "Third, determining and delimiting what is questioned," the meaning is: this is a question by a Master of Dharmalakṣaṇa in name only, desiring to reveal the meaning of Dharmatā; it is not a question by a Master of Dharmatā to reveal the meaning of Dharmalakṣaṇa. Hence it is said to determine and delimit. Within this there are three: first, directly delimiting; second, precluding rebuttals; third, drawing the conclusion.
