33.55

疏「此約染淨」下，結成上義。謂如真如現依他時，設有淨分亦名為染。如鏡現像不揀淨穢，皆非鏡體故。唯能現得名為淨，所現皆染。

Regarding the commentary's "This concerns defilement and purity" and following: this concludes and establishes the above meaning. That is, when tathatā manifests the dependent, even if there is a pure aspect, it is still termed defiled. Just as when a mirror reflects images, without distinguishing between pure and impure, neither is the mirror's essence. Only that which is able to manifest receives the name "pure," whereas all that is manifested is defiled.
