34.87

疏「又此十事」下，約法。言「生在佛家」者，菩提心家故。等者，等於餘句。謂二種族，即具佛種性。謂自性住，性習所成等。三明家，即真如為家，亦四家故。四家如七地。四明見佛性，如見色故。故《涅槃》云「佛性有二：一色、二非色，如來所見為色故。」五相，謂有悲智等為菩薩相故。餘之五句，經自約法，可知。

Regarding the commentary's text from "Furthermore, these ten matters" onward: this is in terms of the Dharma. The phrase "born into the family of the Buddha" means the family of bodhicitta. "And so forth" refers to the remaining lines. The second, clan, means possessing the Buddha gotra—that is, the gotra abiding in its own nature, the gotra accomplished by habituation, and so forth. The third explains family: that is, tathatā is the family, and also refers to the four families. The four families are as in the seventh bhūmi. The fourth explains seeing the Buddha-nature, because it is like seeing physical form. Hence the *Nirvāṇa-sūtra* states: "Buddha-nature is of two kinds: first, form; second, non-form; what is seen by the Tathāgata is form." The fifth, characteristics, means having compassion, wisdom, and so forth as the characteristics of a bodhisattva. The remaining five lines are explained in the sūtra itself in terms of the Dharma, as can be known.
