36.44

疏「復應樹樹相望」等者，三類釋餘義。於中二：先例經、後「又既一處有一切處」下例釋十玄。以古德玄文與意相參但有四玄，前五但二九為託事，十為同時，故今加六，十玄具矣。

Regarding the commentary's passage, "Furthermore, tree should be viewed in relation to tree..." and so forth: this is the third, explaining the remaining meanings by analogy. Within this, there are two: first, drawing an analogy to the sūtra; afterward, from "Furthermore, since in one place there are all places..." onward, explaining the ten profundities by analogy. Because the ancient worthies' profound texts and intentions were mixed together and had only four profundities—the former five being merely numbers two and nine as relying on phenomena, and number ten being simultaneity—therefore, now six are added, and the ten profundities are complete.
