疏「然即緣因即是了因」下，第二揀定二因。於中有二：先標二別。「因有親疎者」，總示別義，疎者是了亦是緣因，親者是了非是緣因。

Regarding the Commentary's statement, "However, precisely the contributory cause is the revealing cause," and so on: second, distinguishing and determining the two causes. Within this, there are two parts: first, marking the two distinctions. "Causes have close and remote": this generally indicates the distinctive meaning. The remote one is revealing and is also a contributory cause; the close one is revealing but not a contributory cause.
