38.62

第九住。疏「又知九種命終」者，即《俱舍論》第三，三界命終各起三界心故。如欲界命終三者，一還起欲界心、二起色界心、三起無色界心。餘二界命終，起三類耳。

The ninth abode. Regarding the commentary's statement, "Furthermore, knowing nine kinds of death": this is from the third fascicle of the Abhidharmakośa-śāstra, because upon dying in the three realms one in each case generates the mind of the three realms. For instance, the three at death in the desire realm are: first, generating once again the mind of the desire realm; second, generating the mind of the form realm; third, generating the mind of the formless realm. When dying in the other two realms, three similar classes arise.
