40.9

疏「法華云佛自住大乘」者，即第一經偈中。此前偈云「唯此一事實，餘二則非真。終不以小乘，濟度於眾生。」疏「住地觀修」者，梁論云「地者對治義」。

Regarding the commentary's 'The Lotus Sūtra says the Buddha himself abides in the Great Vehicle': this is in the verses of the first fascicle. The verse prior to this says: 'Only this one thing is real; / The other two are not true. / Never with the lesser vehicle / Does he save sentient beings.' Regarding the commentary's 'Dwelling in the stages to contemplate and cultivate': the Liang treatise says, '"Stage" means the sense of an antidote.'
