42.23

疏「大施大果」等者，此小大等有三：一少物施等為小，多物施為大。二小心施為小，大心施為大；自利無常等為小利，他觀空等為大。三近果為小，究竟果為大。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "Great giving, great fruit," and so forth: There are three aspects to this small, great, and so forth: First, giving few things and the like is small, while giving many things is great. Second, giving with a small mind is small, while giving with a great mind is great; self-benefit and impermanence are small, while benefiting others and contemplating emptiness are great. Third, proximate fruits are small, while ultimate fruits are great.
