疏「此有三義，一大故第一」等者，此取十地勢十句相釋，以二三四釋於初句，以五六七釋第二大字，以八九十釋第三勝字，文並可知。

Regarding the commentary's phrase "this has three meanings: first, great, hence supreme," and so forth: this takes the ten phrases of the tenor of the Ten Grounds to explain each other, using the second, third, and fourth to explain the first phrase; using the fifth, sixth, and seventh to explain the second word, "great"; and using the eighth, ninth, and tenth to explain the third word, "superior." The text can be readily understood.
