疏「言對法者」下，二釋名也，即會六釋。法之對者，依主釋也。疏「故對法藏特名慧論」者，若據所對所依，應名法論。慧依於法，慧為其主，故名慧論。故所詮中詮於慧學。疏「舊譯」已下，出其異名，兼成上慧義。

In the commentary, from “As for Abhidharma” downwards is the second part, explaining the name, which synthesizes the six compound analyses. “The confronting of dharma” is a tatpuruṣa compound (dependent genitive). In the commentary, “Hence the Abhidharma Piṭaka is specifically named the treatise on wisdom”: if judged by what is confronted and what is relied upon, it should be called a treatise on dharma; but wisdom relies on dharma and wisdom serves as its master, so it is called a treatise on wisdom. Hence, among the things expressed, it expresses the training in wisdom. In the commentary, from “Old translation” downwards presents its alternate names, and simultaneously corroborates the above meaning of wisdom.
