The tenth pariṇāmanā. In the Commentary, where it says "Now the first, meaning in accord with the dharmadhātu...", the text of the Commentary has two parts: first, identifying and synthesizing the different names; second, from "The dharmadhātu is immeasurable, which is precisely the entered" downward, individually explaining its characteristics. In this there are ten [points]: 1. Clarifying what is entered. 2. From "What dharma is capable of entering?" downward, explaining what is capable of entering. 3. From "Namely, by means of the great wisdom that accords with the dharmadhātu..." downward, conjoining both to establish the name. 4. From "This then is the completion of the stage..." downward, concluding and showing how the name is acquired. 5. From "Equal to which dharmadhātu?" downward, clarifying the divisions of the dharmadhātu. 6. From "However, these four matters..." downward, concluding their common scope. 7. From "Therefore, one must not merely..." downward, concluding with a critique of the ancients. That is, the *Kanding* says: "'Equal' is the pariṇāmanā practice that is capable of equalling; 'the dharmadhātu is immeasurable' is the matter that is equalled. This means that the matter-dharmadhātu subsumed throughout the space of the ten directions cannot be measured; now, turning over good roots such as the gift of the Dharma, causing them to accomplish the essence, virtues, and functions of the undefiled state, reveals their quantity to be equal, equal to that quantity, equal to that matter-dharmadhātu." Therefore it is now critiqued: what is equalled has four aspects, and immeasurability has two; how could it be confined only to matter? 8. From "The word 'immeasurable'..." downward, explaining the meaning of immeasurable. 9. From "The preceding pariṇāmanā..." downward, differentiating it from what precedes. 10. From "Namely, taking the gift of the Dharma..." downward, presenting the essence.
