52.72

疏「近地方便」下，通妨。謂別九入依總開出，以總詺別，皆帶入言。即入約證，地前未證，何得屬入？究竟非因，豈為地智？故云近地方便等通前願樂。後「勝進」下，通後究竟。

In the commentary, from 'the upāya proximate to the bhūmi' onward, it resolves an objection. That is to say, the nine distinct entries are opened up based on the comprehensive, and naming the distinct with the comprehensive, they all carry the word 'entry.' Now 'entry' is stated in terms of realization; prior to the bhūmis there is not yet realization, so how can it belong to 'entry'? The ultimate is not a cause, so how could it be the cognition of the bhūmis? Therefore it states that the upāya proximate to the bhūmi and so forth resolves the earlier objection about vow and joy. Later, from 'superior progress' onward, it resolves the later objection about the ultimate.
