53.19

疏「二欲始終緣念佛法」下，以論釋經。論具云「令證一切佛法故」。今謂經明緣念，非是自念，欲令物證所念法故。論云「欲言上品求心者，有二義故：一令物證、二唯緣佛法故。」

From the commentary’s “Second: beginning and end of aspiration, contemplating buddhadharmas” onward, it uses the treatise to explain the sūtra. The treatise states in full: “In order to cause them to realize all buddhadharmas.” Now, it is held that when the sūtra clarifies contemplating, it is not contemplating for oneself, but desiring to cause sentient beings to realize the dharmas contemplated. The treatise says: “When aspiration is called the supreme seeking mind, it is because of two meanings: first, to cause sentient beings to realize; second, solely contemplating buddhadharmas.”
