54.27

疏「此已入初地」下，第五揀善決定。地前亦有相心之善，非真智攝，不名決定。地前亦有決定，復非至順於理，不得稱善。故《地持》說決定有三：一種性地名為決定，定為佛種；二解行地名為決定，定能發心；三初地已上名為決定。今是第三，揀非前二。

From the commentary's "This has already entered the initial ground" downward is the fifth [section], selecting "well-determined." Prior to the grounds there is also goodness of the mind conforming to characteristics, but not being subsumed by true cognition, it is not named "determined." Prior to the grounds there is also determination, but again not reaching supreme conformity with principle, it cannot be called "good." Therefore the Bodhisattvabhūmi says there are three determinations: 1. the ground of gotra is named determination, definitively being of the Buddha-lineage; 2. the ground of resolute conduct is named determination, definitively being able to generate the mind; 3. from the initial ground upward is named determination. Now this is the third, selected as not being the former two.
