疏「然二經中文皆巧略」下，第三以論會經。言巧略者下云「若具應言」，即顯經意。文中是略而云巧者，下云「舉初攝後對水成文」此即巧也，略義可知。

Under the Commentary's statement, "However, the texts of both sūtras are skillfully condensed," this third [part] harmonizes the sūtra with the treatise. The phrase "skillfully condensed" is explained below as "if it were spoken fully, it should say..."; this reveals the meaning of the sūtra. While the text is condensed, the reason it is called "skillful" is that—as stated below—"taking up the beginning to subsume the end and balancing it against the water forms the textual composition." This is the skillfulness; the meaning of condensation is clear.
