58.15

疏「清淨解言信因果故」者，因即解字，勝解即於境印持為性，不可引轉為業，即《唯識論》深忍之義。清淨是果，若准《唯識》，樂欲是果。今望上因，心淨即果。疏「一攝功德大」等者，此下三大即初地初六決定中之二：初一即勝善決定中義，云一切餘善根中勝故。意取勝等，不取決定；二三即因善決定，開之為二。

In the commentary, 'pure understanding means having faith in cause and effect': the cause is the word 'understanding'; resolve has decisive verification regarding an object as its nature, and having an unwavering state as its activity; this is the meaning of 'deeply confirmed' in the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi-śāstra. Purity is the result; if conforming to the Vijñaptimātratā, joy and desire are the result. Now, looking toward the cause above, purity of mind is the result. In the commentary, 'first, the greatness of gathering merit' and so forth: these three greatnesses below are two of the six determinations at the beginning of the first bhūmi. The first is the meaning within the determination of superior goodness, saying that it is superior among all other roots of goodness. The intent is to take 'superior' and so forth, not to take 'determination'. The second and third are the determination of the causal goodness, opened into two.
