58.26

疏「四以一音」下，此業一音頓演，故名種種。一音之義，前疏已明，下復廣說。言「稱機故」者，釋經「令歡喜」言，稱機故喜。疏「不斷佛種業」者，化化不絕故。此業廣如〈出現〉涅槃章明

From the commentary's "fourth, with a single sound" downward: this activity expounds all at once with a single sound, hence it is called "various." The meaning of a single sound was already explained in the earlier commentary, and will be expounded further below. Stating "because it accords with their spiritual capacity": this explains the sūtra's words "causing joy"; because it accords with capacity, they rejoice. The commentary's "activity of not severing the Buddha seed": because transformation after transformation never ceases. This activity is expounded extensively in the section on nirvāṇa in the "Chapter on Manifestation."
