6.11

疏「此雖約機」下，辯順違。直出其立意不離半滿，半滿順違即此順違也。言「不出半滿」者，頓即前滿、漸具半滿。以具有三乘，二乘是半、大乘是滿。故以機就教，有直有曲，故分漸頓耳。

From the commentary's "Although this is based on capacity" onwards, it discerns agreement and disagreement. It directly brings out that his established intention does not depart from the half and full; the agreement and disagreement of the half and full are precisely this agreement and disagreement. As for "not departing from the half and full": the sudden is the previous full, and the gradual possesses both half and full. Because it possesses the three vehicles, the two vehicles are half and the Mahāyāna is full. Therefore, adapting teaching according to capacity, there are the direct and the circuitous; hence it merely divides the gradual and sudden.
