疏「此中修慧由聞慧故」者，論云「此是彼起依止行。聞慧方便是起所依，是故修行名彼起依止行。」意云：由聞解修故，修求聞之行。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "The wisdom of cultivation herein is due to the wisdom of hearing": the treatise states, "This is the practice that is the basis for that arising. The upāya of the wisdom of hearing is the basis for arising; therefore, cultivation is called the practice that is the basis for that arising." The meaning is: because one understands cultivation through hearing, one cultivates the practice of seeking what is heard.
