疏「謂自他煩惱」者，釋云二地。二地有何煩惱？謂障三地者是二地惑。今不現前，故云不壞。疏「等至八禪自在」者，論云「三摩提自在」。三摩提是古梵語，即三摩鉢底，此云等至故。

Regarding the phrase "Meaning one's own and others' afflictions": this is explained as the second stage. What afflictions exist in the second stage? The afflictions that obstruct the third stage are the delusions of the second stage. Since they do not manifest now, it says 'unbroken'. Regarding the commentary's phrase "mastery in the meditative attainments of the eight dhyānas": the treatise says "mastery in samādhi". *Samāte* is an old Sanskrit word, which is *samāpatti*, translated here as meditative attainment.
