疏「次二約資生」者，非唯不知追求受用皆悉是苦，亦不知前皆悉是苦，亦不知前皆歸於死。而初追求愛順憎違，求順不得即求不得苦，憎違而至即怨憎會苦。

Regarding the commentary's "The next two concern the necessities of life": not only do they fail to realize that seeking and enjoying are entirely suffering, but they also fail to realize that what went before is entirely suffering, and they fail to realize that all ultimately return to death. First, in seeking, one loves what is agreeable and hates what is contrary; failing to attain what is agreeable is the suffering of not getting what one seeks; what is contrary arriving is the suffering of meeting what is hated.
