62.54

疏「亦非色非不色、雙照色不色」者，即第二約性相以明三觀，則一多相並。上之數皆屬相攝，非色為性。文但顯中，略無空假。若具應言：法性緣生故色，緣生即空故非色，法性即中故非色非不色等。亦具遮照中道之義。

As for the Commentary's text, “It is also neither matter nor non-matter, and illuminates both matter and non-matter,” this is the second part, which clarifies the three contemplations with reference to nature and characteristics; then the one and the many stand alongside each other. All of the numbers above belong to the mutual inclusion of characteristics; non-matter is the nature. The text merely reveals the middle, keeping empty and provisional implicit. If fully stated, it should say: because conditioned arising is from the dharmatā, it is matter; because conditioned arising is empty, it is non-matter; because the dharmatā is middle, it is neither matter nor non-matter, and so forth. It also fully possesses the meaning of the middle way of negation and illumination.
