63.4

疏「又雖一剎那」下，第五分位。謂雖見道迅速有十六心，義則一剎那中七法俱起，功能不同不可言一。如七味香搗篩和合，焚如麻子，七香齊發。「念除妄念」下，別示異相。

Regarding the commentary's phrase "moreover, although within a single kṣaṇa" and so on: the fifth [treats] their status in stages. That is to say, although the path of seeing is swift and possesses sixteen moments of mind, in principle, within a single kṣaṇa the seven factors arise together; their functions differ, so they cannot be called one. It is like pounding, sifting, and blending seven kinds of incense: burned as a grain of hemp, the seven fragrances release simultaneously. From "mindfulness eliminates erroneous thoughts" onward, it individually indicates their distinct characteristics.
