64.23

疏「今不得者」下，彰其別相。則非唯初地未得此忍，而此六地亦未得之，以約分別無我與空及無生理，三相異故。文中二：先總標；二「一約空」下，釋有四門，即分四別。第一門中，正開前約理通義初顯無我。言「破性顯空」者，若人若法皆無性故空，此則義當信忍。舉初攝後，故云初地。

On the commentary passage beginning with "As for not attaining it now": this reveals its distinct characteristics. Then, not only has the first bhūmi not yet attained this kṣānti, but also this sixth bhūmi has not yet attained it, because in terms of discriminating selflessness, emptiness, and the principle of non-arising, the three characteristics are different. In the text there are two parts: first, a general heading; second, from "First, in terms of emptiness" onwards, it explains through four gates, which then divide into four distinctions. Within the first gate, it directly unfolds the previous common meaning in terms of principle to first reveal selflessness. Regarding "refuting intrinsic nature to reveal emptiness": because both person and dharma lack intrinsic nature and are therefore empty, this meaning corresponds to the kṣānti of faith. Raising the first subsumes the subsequent ones, hence it speaks of the first bhūmi.
