64.96

疏「論主指前常求有無之愛即是舉例」者，故論云「常求有無愛水潤故」，明是指前。今云即是舉例者，此中之愛不異無明支中愛故。「亦即是前標中有漏」者，前云有漏是愛，有取是取，故是此中愛支。次云「以前有愛無明攝」者，彼是無明中愛，即發業愛耳。今是潤業之愛，故不同也。

Regarding “The treatise master points to the former craving of constantly seeking existence and non-existence, which is providing an analogy”: therefore the treatise says, “Because it is moistened by the water of craving that constantly seeks existence and non-existence,” clarifying that it points to what came before. Now saying that it is providing an analogy means that the craving here is not different from the craving within the link of ignorance. “It is also what was marked before as 'with outflows'”: earlier it said that 'with outflows' is craving and 'with grasping' is grasping; hence it is the link of craving here. Next it says, “Because the craving that came before was subsumed under ignorance”: that was the craving within ignorance, which is the craving that initiates karma. Here it is the craving that moistens karma, so they are not the same.
